Pre-Conception and Pregnancy Support

I offer tailored consultations to help you navigate the birthing landscape of New York City. I can help you pick the right care provider (choosing between an obstetrician or a midwife) and guide you towards specific recommendations based on almost two decades of experience working alongside varied styles and personalities. During these consultations I can share nuanced details about varied birth locations (hospital, birth center, home) and ensure that you establish a great birth team and environment to support your experience. I am available at any point before you conceive and during the early weeks to provide evidence based information as you make important and time-sensitive decisions about prenatal testing.

During pregnancy I can help you write a birth plan, recommend materials to read/watch/listen to, and suggest questions for your care provider during your prenatal visits. If you experience any medical conditions, I am available to talk through preventive care and planned interventions. I have extensive experience with high-risk pregnancies and pregnant people who are navigating existing mental health conditions.

If you are not planning on having a doula at your birth, I can help your partner, friends, and family to provide you with the best labor support with practical and tools and resources. My fee for these services are:

$450 for unlimited text/email during the entire pregnancy.

$175 for video consults up to two hours.

$75 for phone consultations.

In-Person Labor Support

As your doula, I will help you have the birth experience you want. I have been trained in the physiology of childbirth and understanding the emotional needs of laboring people. I will always provide a perspective free from personal opinion and help you gather information so you can make the best decisions for yourself and your family. I will support you unconditionally and non-judgmentally.

I have extensive experience with clients seeking unmedicated childbirth as well as those planning epidurals, high risk pregnancies, multiples pregnancies, breech presentation, pre-term labor, vaginal birth after c-section (VBAC), and c-sections.

I have worked at every local NYC hospital and birth center alongside many OBs and midwives, so I can help you navigate the specific policies and protocols at your respective birthing location, including home births.

I work in all birth settings (hospital, birth center, home) and will travel to anywhere in Westchester, Manhattan, The Bronx, Queens, and occasionally Brooklyn and parts of Jersey.

MY SERVICES:

I offer a virtual meet and greet between you, your partner, or any other person who will be with you during labor. At this meeting we can get to know each other, I can tell you about my background, training, and experience, you can describe your priorities, concerns, and questions regarding your upcoming birth. If you feel we are a good match, I am on call for you from the time you hire me through the birth of your baby and the immediate postpartum period.

Labor Doula Services Include:

  • virtual prenatal visits whenever you would like

  • one in person prenatal visit if requested

  • eight small group classes (childbirth prep (2 parts), pushing, lactation and infant feeding, newborn care (with back-up doula Megan Davidson), induction, c-section, and postpartum prep)

  • in-person support during labor at your home and/or in the hospital or birthing center,

  • in person support during the first couple of hours postpartum (as allowed by the policies of your birth location),

  • a follow up postpartum visit in your home;

  • unlimited phone, text, and email support throughout your pregnancy and the first year+ postpartum.

I support you before, during, and after labor by providing information, research, and time to talk through common procedures and tests during pregnancy, interventions during labor and postpartum, and as a certified lactation counselor, with breast/chest feeding. We have one in person prenatal meeting to talk about your birthing preferences, create a birth plan, prepare questions for your care provider, discuss signs and stages of labor, review comfort, relaxation, and laboring techniques that might make sense for you, and how to prepare your home for the postpartum period.

I offer you unlimited virtual prenatal meetings and 24/7 communication. You can contact me at any time with questions, concerns, or updates. Additionally I teach monthly childbirth, pushing, lactation, and postpartum preparation classes that are included in the pregnancy and labor services package. During labor, I will come to you as soon as you want and stay with you throughout the labor and the birth of your baby. I will use my knowledge and experience to provide you with physical comfort (massage, counterpressure, positions for labor and pushing), emotional (breathing, relaxation, and visualization techniques), and educational support.  I will act as a liaison and translator between you and the staff, reminding them of your preferences and helping you ask questions so that you have the information you need to make decisions for your family. My priority is to help you make the best choices for your family.

After the birth, I help with initial breast/chest feeding and any other postpartum issues. I am always available to answer questions about your baby and your well-being. I make a home visit within a week to continue supporting feeding, babywearing tutorials, infant soothing techniques, newborn care, and referrals to any community resources you and your family might need. I continue to offer unlimited phone and text support during your first year postpartum.

I charge $4800 for the services listed above.

If you are interested in my services, email/text/call me and we can set up a complimentary meeting to discuss your plans and how I can help you.

It is an honor to do this work.
